Bauerfeind RhizoLoc Thumb Support
The Bauerfeind RhizoLoc Thumb Support is a great product for stabilising the thumb after injury. If you trip, your hands are often the part of your body that suffers when you try and break your fall, and your thumb is in a particularly vulnerable position. When you’re travelling at speed and have an accident, the potential for injury is even higher, which is why ‘skier’s thumb’ is such a common condition. Tears or sprains to the collateral ligaments, which the term refers to, can be a great inconvenience, especially if you want to get back on the slopes as soon as possible.
The Bauerfeind RhizoLoc is perfectly designed to speed up the healing process and keep your thumb in the optimum position for recovery. With a comfortable, breathable design, you’ll be back to fighting fitness in no time.
Who Can Use the RhizoLoc Thumb Support?
The RhizoLoc is ideal for anyone who has damaged their thumb, and needs a product to speed up the healing process and guard against further injury. The RhizoLoc has been expertly designed for stabilization of the thumb saddle and first metacarpophalangeal joints.Following thumb joint injuries, such as tears or pulls to the collateral ligaments (“skiers thumb”), or for indications of osteoarthritis (arthrosis of first carpometacarpal joint) or irritation, the RhizoLoc Thumb Support stabilises the thumb saddle and metacarpophalangeal joint.
A Velcro tab allows the mobility of the joint to be limited as treatment requires. The support can be adapted to the patient’s individual thumb size by means of the adjustable thumb tab, while the breathable material with its integral pores allows air to circulate, thereby preventing the skin underneath from becoming sweaty or itchy.
