How to use the Dorsal Resting Hand Brace with Finger Separators

1. Open all Velcro closures and place your hand, fingers and thumb on palmar aspect of the splint.
2. Check position of hand and thumb; adjust as necessary to fit resident by bending the palmar and/or thumb aspects as necessary to comply with the patients condition. Use a firm surface to adjust the palmar and thumb aspect of the splint.
3. Check the wrist to ensure the necessary degree of extension. Adjust as necessary.
4. Fasten the Velcro closures on the wrist. Check the strap is secure and not over tight.
5. Fasten the Velcro closures over the forearm. Check the strap is secure and not over tight.
6. Bring the hand strap under the palmer portion of the splint and wrap up and around to the dorsal aspect of the splint. Fasten Velcro closure on top.
7. Wrap the thumb strap comfortably around the thumb to secure in place.
8. Apply finger separators as desired 9. Recheck the hand, fingers and thumb for correct positioning.

Care instructions for the Dorsal Resting Hand Brace with Finger Separators

• Wash periodically by hand with a damp cloth and mild soap
• Use a towel to absorb most of the dampness and then allow to dry at room temperature
• Do not hang up, or iron and do not expose to direct heat sources such as stoves, heaters, radiators, direct sunlight etc
• Do not expose to alcohol, ointments or solvents
