The Push Ortho Thumb Brace CMC has been designed and developed in conjunction with hand therapists Judy Colditz and Nettie Koekebakker. It is widely accepted by medical professionals as the thumb brace on the market for osteoarthritis of the CMC joint of the thumb. CMC-1 osteoarthritis is a common thumb disorder that particularly affects people between the ages of 40 – 60 years old.

Sizing Information for the Push Ortho Thumb Brace CMC

The Push Ortho Thumb Brace CMC is available in four sizes for both the left and the right hand. To find the correct size for you, simply measure the circumference of your palm starting in thumb crotch and ensuring you measure over the knuckle of the small finger.

Once you have this measurement, please consult the sizing table below.

How Does the CMC Ortho Thumb Brace Work?

The Push Ortho Thumb Brace CMC consists of a cylindrical section around the ball of the thumb and a fixed connection running along the palm to the outside of the hand. This can be closed at the back of the hand with two non-elastic bands.

The cylindrical section consists of two components: an aluminium strip and a transparent, flexible, synthetic part. The aluminium strip can be shaped and individually adapted for maximum stabilisation of the base of the thumb.

Day to Day Functionality and Pain Relief

The Push CMC Thumb Brace stabilises and reinforces the basal joint (CMC-1) and places the metacarpal 1 into a functioning, well-aligned position. This creates a functional and correctly positioned thumb arc, leaving the MCP-1 join and wrist free to allow maximum functionality in the rest of the hand.
