Rolyan Pre-Formed Burn Splint

Following burn injuries, tendon transfers or other serious trauma, special splinting is required to provide support to the injured limb without affecting the vulnerable areas of damaged tissue. The Rolyan Pre-Formed Burn Splint is ideal for this purpose, keeping the hand in the perfect position for healing while having the ability to accommodate thick wound dressings.

Hand Positioning

The Rolyan Pre-Formed Burn Splint positions the hand in the following way:

• Wrist extension of 20 – 30°
• MCP flexion of 60 – 70°
• IPs fully extended
• Thumb positioned in 45° of extension midway between radial abduction and palmar abduction

Adaptation of Rolyan Pre-Formed Burn Splint

All Rolyan pre-formed splints are made from low temperature thermoplastic materials that can be modified easily for a custom fit. Simply use a heat gun or heat pan to adapt the material.

As these splints are supplied fully-formed, they come in specific left and right hand models. Please make sure to select the correct model for your needs when purchasing.

Sizing of the Pre-Formed Burn Splint

The Rolyan Pre-Formed Burn Splint is available in three different sizes. To find your size, simply follow the diagram below, measuring across the second to the fifth MCP joints, and compare to the measurements provided in the table.
