SaeboStretch Hand Splint
While traditional static splints can help to minimise joint damage and pain, their rigid design may often lead to joint damage, pain, contractures, and hypermobility. The SaeboStretch Hand Splint uses a revolutionary stretch technology, which allows the fingers to move through flexion caused by associated reactions and increased tone, resulting in increased flexibility, motivation and compliance.
What Is the SaeboStretch?
The SaeboStretch is a revolutionary dynamic hand splint for individuals with minimal to moderate tone and soft tissue shortening. It helps to prevent joint damage while improving and maintaining range of motion.
What makes this hand splint different from most similar products is that it has a dynamic hand piece that allows the fingers to move through flexion caused by postural changes, associated with reactions and increased tone. It then gradually re-positions the fingers into extension.
What’s Included with the SaeboStretch Hand Splint?
The SaeboStretch Hand Splint includes:
- 1 x Hand Splint
- 3 x Dynamic Hand Pieces
The SaeboStretch includes three interchangeable dynamic hand pieces
What Is the Purpose of Dynamic Hand Pieces?
The SaeboStretch includes three interchangeable dynamic hand pieces. These can accommodate various levels of spasticity, ensuring this hand splint is suitable and comfortable for individuals at all levels of rehabilitation.
Who Is the SaeboStretch Suitable For?
The SaeboStretch is suitable for individuals with minimum to moderate tone and soft tissue shortening. It can be used with numerous conditions, such as:
- Multiple sclerosis
- Neurological injuries
- Spasticity
- Spinal cord injuries
- Stroke
How Is the SaeboStretch Better Than a Static Splint?
The SaeboStretch overcomes clinical concerns that can result from traditional hard static splints, including joint damage, hypermobility, and contractures. This innovative splint uses a revolutionary stretch technology, which allows the fingers to move through flexion caused by associated reactions and increased tone. Following relaxation, the fingers gradually return to the desired resting position.
How Does the SaeboStretch Work?
The SaeboStretch securely holds the hand, wrist, and fingers in a position that is most suited to the treatment. It also includes an adjustable thumb system that can be adjusted for either palmar abduction and adduction or radial abduction and adduction. The head-cross screws offer enhanced performance, securing together the splint to provide a reliable structure that will help to offer the necessary resistance for bringing fingers back into extension.

How Comfortable Is the SaeboStretch?
Made with elastic non-slip straps, the Hand Splint is both comfortable and reliable. The straps are also sewn to the cover, which enables proper positioning and ease of donning.
For improved hygiene, the zipper closure on the cover enables removal for cleaning. It also means that handpieces can be changed swiftly and with ease to ensure both physical and emotional comfort in patients who may find treatments distressing.
How Does the SaeboStretch Splint Help with Spasticity?
Spasticity is a neuromuscular condition, usually caused by damage to the portion of the brain or spinal cord that controls voluntary movement. It is typically found in individuals with cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, stroke, multiple sclerosis, and spinal cord injury. The SaeboStretch Splint allows the fingers to move through flexion, and then gradually repositions the fingers into extension.

How Does the SaeboStretch Splint Help with Contracture?
Contracture is a loss of motion over time due to abnormal shortening of the soft tissue structures spanning one or more joints, which includes skin, ligaments, tendons, muscles and joint capsules. The main causes of contracture are:
- Immobilisation
- Spasticity
- Weakness
Static hand splints completely immobilise your hand, which may lead to contractures, as well as joint deformities and pain. The SaeboStretch Splint is designed to keep your hand flexible, which helps to prevent contractures from occurring.

Can I Wear the SaeboStretch Splint on Either Hand?
No, the SaeboStretch is designed to be left- or right-hand specific. You can select the suitable splint for your needs from the drop-down menu at the top of the page.
How Do I Find the Right Size?
To find the right size of splint, measure across the proximal phalanges of fingers two to five, just below the proximal interphalangeal joints (second joints). The fingers must be closed together, and the measuring tape must not be wrapped down the lateral or medial side of the hands. Once you have your measurement, consult the table below and select the preferred size from the drop-down menu at the top of the page.
Measure across the proximal phalanges of fingers two to five, just below the second joints
