Urias Inflatable Pressure Leg Gaitor Splint
If your patient suffers from movement issues caused by a neurological disorder, it’s important that they are treated correctly to reduce any physical issues they have. The Urias Inflatable Pressure Leg Gaitor Splint is designed to provide therapeutic, even pressure on your client’s limb for neurological rehabilitation. Moulds to Your Client’s Anatomy
The Urias Pressure Leg Gaitor Splint is made of a double layer of washable PVC sheeting for improved hygiene. The support is transparent, allowing you to have better control over the positioning of the brace. During inflation, the soft inner layer moulds exactly to your client’s anatomy, providing circumferential, even pressure when inflation is completed.
Counteracts Abnormal Tone Development
The Urias Inflatable Leg Gaitor Splint is designed to counteract abnormal tone development. When it is applied following a brain injury that has been caused by a trauma or a stroke, the splint inhibits spasticity, assists movement patterns, expedites weight bearing and reduces oedema. The dynamic force of this splint encourages the recovery of your senses by stimulating proprioceptors in the area.
The Inflatable Pressure Gaitor Splint also inhibits the development of contractures in neurological disorders. Where a contracture is already present, the Urias Pressure Splint may be used to stretch and position the limb and therefore gradually reduce the deformity.
What’s the Difference Between Single or Double-Chambered Splints?
The Foot version of the Inflatable Pressure Leg Gaitor Splint uses a single-chambered splint, while the Large Leg and Small Leg variants use a double-chambered splint. While single chamber splints provide even pressure across the limb, double chamber splints offer varying levels of pressure in two separate, individually-inflated chambers. This offers specific management of the extensor or flexor tone.
